Flying cars, eVTOLS, air taxis — whatever you want to call it — the Miami Valley is at the forefront. And with simulation and testing of these aircraft occurring daily, the Dayton region has cemented its place in the advancement of this new technology to ensure it gets off the ground and into the sky.

FlyOhio, an initiative of the Ohio UAS Center and stakeholders that include JobsOhio, the Dayton Development Coalition, Ohio Federal Research Network and the city of Springfield, held an event to showcase these vehicles and allow people to see them in action. On display were several eVTOLs, flight simulators, charging stations and other technologies that are taking this new aircraft from a dream to a reality.

The Ohio Advanced Air Mobility Showcase took place Wednesday at the Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport, which is the epicenter of eVTOL development in the Miami Valley. What started as a smaller event of 50 people quickly ballooned to over 200, some of which traveled from out of state to see the aircraft up close and personal.
